About Me
I'm Felix Jimenez, a Teach For America corps member teaching 7th-grade social studies at Rembrandt Secondary Academy in Pharr,TX. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my son and family. I'm a big fan of watching the Lakers play and rooting for Texas A&M in sports. Teaching social studies has ignited my passion for history, and I have a hobby of collecting antiques. I see myself as an ambitious individual who finds joy in helping others, particularly my students.

Leadership Activities - Teach For America
- Teach For America is a program by AmeriCorps that brings in and trains skilled people to teach in low-income communities, aiming to tackle educational inequality across the country. I took part in a Teach For America Summer Institute program focused on tackling those educational disparities in America. It gave me insights into effective strategies for making positive changes in underserved communities. Since then, I've been using innovative teaching methods and nurturing both academic and social-emotional growth in my 7th-grade classroom.

Leadership Activities - Coaching
- Aside from teaching, I genuinely enjoy mentoring youth through coaching. Serving as a high school basketball coach challenges me to evolve as a better role model, and I strive to instill the value of hard work, passion for one's beliefs, and teamwork in my student athletes.

Classroom
As an educator over the past 3 years, I've gained valuable experience. From witnessing the effects on the education system post-COVID to striving to bridge the resulting gaps, it's been a challenging yet purposeful journey. Instilling motivation in my students and witnessing their progress throughout the year will always stand out as my greatest accomplishment as an educator.
